How to Get Your Passport in Kuwait (General Guidance)

Passports expire after ten years, so if you plan to stay in Kuwait for a while, you should probably renew yours (or even if you lost your passport). It’s a situation no one wants to face but fret not; we will provide you with all the information you need to issue your visa from your embassy in Kuwait.

Please note: The Indian passport is valid for 10 years from the date of issue and must be renewed before expiration.

Required Documents to Issue Your Passport in Kuwait

If your passport is due to expire, you can follow the simple instructions below to renew it.

Here are all the required papers you should prepare before going to the embassy:

  1. A photocopy of your valid passport and government-issued photo identification.

Self-attesting is required for all document copies. (This indicates you need to sign and date the document.)

*What if you lost your passport in Kuwait?

The original passport must accompany lost passport applications, two passport copies of witnesses, a photocopy of the lost passport, a photocopy of the applicant’s Civil ID with Annexure’ F,’ and three recent photographs (size 51mm X 51mm) having frontal views of the applicant and two witnesses.

In most cases, a replacement passport will be supplied within 15 days if the original passport was issued in Kuwait and within 30 days.

There will be no refunds for the fee.

  1. The applicant must produce an original passport, government-issued photo identification card, or another appropriate document for verification purposes.
  2. In some cases, the Consulate may request further documentation for verification, although this is at its discretion and depends on the documents submitted.
  3. Please submit two high-quality photographs for the passport.

Non-Indian citizens contact their respective embassies or look at their websites to learn about the specific photo specifications needed for a passport.

How to Renew Your Passport Online

    1. The first step is to visit your embassy’s website, where you’ll need to choose “Africa and the Middle East” as the region/country and then “Kuwait” as the country.

  1. Select “Register – Register to Apply for Passport Services.”

  1. To finish up your registration, do as instructed.

 

When you select this subheading, you will be prompted to register for a Passport Seva Portal account.

You can use your previous credentials to access your account for those who have already registered.

Then create your account.

*Please note these tips apply to Indian nationalists, but almost all embassies include the same steps. So, keep in mind that finding some minor differences is possible.

To create an account, please fill out the following fields:

  1. Embassy/Consulate: Kuwait-Kuwait City
  2. Given Name (first name) (first name)
  3. Family name
  4. your birthdate.
  5. Email address

  • After registering, could you select a password and confirm it?
  • For further safety, you can select a question that doubles as a ‘hint,’ such as your place of birth.
  • After inputting the captcha code, click the “Register” button.
  • After successful account creation has been confirmed, a link to activate your account will be given to the provided email address.
  • After clicking the activation link, you’ll be prompted to enter your email address and password.
  • Next, select “Register – Register to apply for passport services,” then log in again.
  • After that, click through the option of ‘application for applying for ordinary passport’.

Then you will get these options:

New passports and passport renewals: If you need to renew your passport, click the “passport reissue” button.

“Reissue Reason,” such as “validity has expired or will expire within three years.”

Standard or Urgent Form of Application (In case there is urgency).

36- or 60-page booklets are available for passports. *in the case of the Indian passport.

To complete the applicant information by entering the following:

After filling in all the required information, press next.

In this step, you will get the Passport Renewal Form and be asked for information about your family.

  • Father’s full name
  • Full Name of Mother
  • Identification of the parents or guardians who are legally responsible (when applicable)
  • Full name of spouse (when applicable)
  • Parents’ passport numbers are required for all minor applicants.

You must specify their nationality if they are not Indian.

Some general tips:

  • If you can’t submit your application in person, you can have M/s. You can get connected to any agency approved by the embassy and verify your documents.

Applying requires everyone in the household, including infants and minors, to be present.

  • The ordinary passport has a validity period of ten years beginning on the date of issuance.

A passport might be issued for a shorter period at the discretion of your embassy. Passports are provided to minors for 5 years, or until the minor turns 18.

  • Requests for passport services must be made on the proper form, with all required fields filled out completely and legibly. No fields can be left blank, unfilled, unanswered, or vaguely filled out with a dash, tick, etc.

No other method of application for the service will be accepted.

  • Each applicant must use a ballpoint pen with either black or blue ink to sign the application. Those who can’t sign their names, such as babies, juveniles, or the illiterate, can use their thumbprint instead (males should use a left-hand thumb impression, and females should use a right-hand thumb impression).

Finally, Payment must accompany the correctly filled out form.
